Chiropractors are trained to diagnose and determine when and how to relieve and correct such pains and reduced function, and make appropriate joint adjustments, as well as any other indicated therapy (electrotherapy, ultrasound therapy, myofascial therapies) advice, and/or referral.

Chiropractic education in Canada is offered at Toronto’s Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) and at the University of Trois Rivieres in Quebec, both of which are accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education in Canada, whose standards are similar to those recognized by the United States Department of Education. |

90% of chiropractic students hold a bachelor’s, master’s, PhD or other degrees before acceptance, and undergo a rigorous four year course of study which includes one year of clinical internship, some of which has historically included Grand Rounds at Sunnybrook Health Centre.

Faculty comes from diverse disciplines such as biological sciences, pathology, radiology, medicine, as well as chiropractic. The course of study includes anatomy, human dissection, biochemistry, physiology, medical diagnosis, microbiology, pathology, nutrition, radiology, and kinesiology. |
